- Only one piece of writing from a student may be submitted. Multiple submissions are NOT allowed. Collaborative submissions from more than one student will not be accepted.
- Entries must be relevant to the topic.
- Technical ability must be consistent with grade level. Obvious re-writing by an adult will result in disqualification.
- The submission must include name of author, age, school and grade level; name of parent or guardian; and contact information, including telephone number and email address.*
- Entries containing profanity, violent and/or sexually explicit material are not considered appropriate for this contest and will not be considered.
- Entries must be written in English.
- Entries will not be returned. It is important that you maintain a copy for your files.
- Decision of the judges is final.
- Submissions should be no more than 500 words
- This contest is open only to current Hays CISD middle school students attending Barton Middle School, Chapa Middle School, Dahlstrom Middle School, McCormick Middle School, Simon Middle School and Wallace Middle School
